Dive Into Shapes GIVEAWAY!

Learning Resources makes some wonderful educational products that makes learning FUN and exciting!  I have the privilege of reviewing their new Dive Into Shapes set, and I am super excited to be able to give a set away to one of our readers!  I am all about hands-on learning and engaging ways to make concepts more concrete.  I KNEW that this shape set would be a perfect fit The Moffatt Girls!

What is Included in the Dive into Shapes set?
*This intro into shapes and geometry set includes 60 sticks in 3 different sizes, 20 curves, 34 connectors and 15 double-sided activity cards.

I want my girls to LOVE math and this set really encourages following directions, creativity, imagination and fine motor skills!  My little Sophia was not interested in using the activity cards, so she ventured out on our own to build and construct some 3-D shapes.

It was neat to see the girls work together on building shapes...

Audrey was all about the activity cards and she wanted to build a sphere.
She had fun wearing half of her sphere as a hat...

And of course Sophia had to try it on as well…
Needless to say…math is FUN!

There are 15 different double-sided activity cards included in this set, with a total of 30 different activities.  Each activity card tells you how many rods are needed to construct the shape.  I also like that there is a challenge included on each card to uplevel the activity.

Audrey's mind was always trying to see what else she could make with shape she constructed.  Both of the girls really enjoyed playing with this set!

The connectors, curves and rods are very easy to work with and extremely durable.

Together the girls worked on building a house.  This task would require the girls to put two different shapes together, a cube and a triangular prism.  The challenge question was, "What else can you make out of these two shapes?"  They talked about it and came up with all sorts of "strange" creations ;)

This was a lot of fun for the girls and it really helped with teamwork, basic geometric shapes and fine motor skills!

I highly recommend this set!  I wish I had 100 sets to giveaway!  For YOUR chance to WIN the Dive into Shapes set, use the Rafflecopter below.
