Primary Color Mixing Set GIVEAWAY!

GIVEAWAY TIME
I get pretty excited when Learning Resources sends us some new educational products to review and GIVEAWAY!  I absolutely LOVE Learning Resources because they make learning hands-on and FUN!

I had the opportunity to review the Primary Color Mixing Set and this is now a FAVORITE!  This is by far the BEST coloring mixing set that I have seen or used.

Included in this set:
*customizable kaleidoscope with color chips
*spinning top with interchangeable color mixing discs
*6 piece translucent color wheel
*Color Mixing Glasses with 6 lenses
*3 test tubes with lids and a dropper in a stand
*Activity Cards to conduct experiments

We started off by exploring color with these irresistible Color Mixing Glasses!  These really proved to be so much FUN!  The girls kept coming back to the glasses and wanted to put them on to see how colors would change.

The lenses consist of the primary colors, so kids can experiment and explore with secondary colors as well!  This simple concept of colored glasses really helped solidify how colors change!

I love how easy it was for little hands to put the lenses into the glasses.  You can even put 2 different colors in at a time.

There are several activity cards in the set that allow you to teach Key Concepts and effectively explore color mixing.

Another fun learning tool is the customizable kaleidoscope!  The kaleidoscope comes with color chips and allows kids to turn the kaleidoscope and see how colors come together to make new colors.

The girls had a TON of fun with the kaleidoscope!

The real fun came when we started experimenting with different materials!
First we added some grass...
It was VERY fascinating to see grass in a kaleidoscope!

Then the girls grabbed some white and red flowers and that was just BEAUTIFUL!  We fell in LOVE with the customizable kaleidoscope!

Next up was the Travelin' Colors activity!
Here is how this experiment works:
Add drops of red and blue food coloring to the test tubes...

 Shake up the test tubes...

Read the activity card for the next step...

Follow directions and add your rolled up paper towel to the first side...
Then add the paper towel to the second side...
Watch the colors travel up the pieces of paper towel...

Pull out those FABULOUS glasses to see how the colors can change with different lenses...

Discover that red and blue make PURPLE!

Then we pulled out the color lenses!
And the spinner….

And LEARNED about color mixing with some hands-on experimenting...

I didn't TELL them about primary and secondary colors…
they EXPERIENCED it!

Learning Resources has graciously offered to give a Primary Color Mixing Set away to one of the Moffatt Girls fans! If you plan on purchasing this set, be sure to take advantage of the Teacher Appreciation SALE and get 40% off 1 item, plus FREE shipping!
