Moffatt Doodles!! Digital Frames!

I have been a bad blogger lately, but I have been enjoying this Christmas and I have been busy!  I have been wanting to create some doodle frames for a long time now and I FINALLY released my very first product!  I am addicted to frames so this really feeds my addiction!

Daily Journal Prompts for January!

Writing is an area that we are ready to place more focus on, starting this January!  Although we have done a bit of writing here and there, I am super excited about our Daily Journal Prompts for January!  These Daily Journal Prompts are a great way to give students an opportunity to write in a daily response journal or even a more guided and structured setting.

These daily Journal Prompts for January are designed to work for K-2 students and can be used to meet many Common Core Standards for writing!  I love these journal prompts because that students can really create ownership of their own writing and feel successful.  The Daily Journal Prompts can be used as:

*A Daily Response Journal

*More structured and guided journal writing

If you have beginning writers who are still working on proper letter formation and spacing, the handwriting pages are perfect!  This packet also include lined pages for students who more skilled with letter formation and spacing.  

I had our journal pages spiral bound and now Audrey is super excited about having her "own" January Journal book.  It only cost a couple of dollars to have it done and so well worth it.  We will be starting our Daily Journal Prompts in January!

Christmas Learning Day #9 with a FREEBIE!

Christmas is almost here and we have been enjoying our Christmas learning and our family time!  So many memories are created during Christmas and it is such a joyous time, unless you are sick like the poor Moffatt Man :(

As for the Moffatt Girls, we did finish up our 10 Christmas Math Centers...

It is all about the glitter!  I will be honest... I am not a big glitter fan!  I like glitter, but I don't like it all over my house.  Even when I see glitter I kinda cringe.  But this year I decided not to let it bother me...well, at least I tried not to let it bother me as much:)  I kept telling myself..."It's just glitter and it cleans up...eventually."  I did better and we had a lot fun with glitter:)  We totally enjoyed our glitter decorating, but I am glad it is over :)

 I hope you all are having fun and enjoying family and friends!  We are busy wrapping presents, baking and totally enjoying this wonderful Christmas season!  Merry Christmas!

Christmas Learning Day #8 with a FREEBIE!

It is an exciting time around here and the little Moffatt Girls are LOVING Christmas!  There are a ton of crafts to do and even some learning:) All was going well until the DOG ATE OUR GINGERBREAD HOUSE!

Bad dog!  Bad, bad, bad dog!

I was so mad at our dog!  Our dog, Lily, has some MAJOR eating disorders.  She constantly hounds us for food.  She sniffs the house and searches everywhere for a crumb that someone may have dropped.  Well today she was in luck because she dug open our Gingerbread house box and went to town on the front part of the house!  I still have no idea how she got the box in the first place, but her nose will find anything.  At first I was mad at her, then I just had to laugh it off because I felt so sorry for her.  I think she was mad at me when I took the cookie away from her.

We still enjoyed some fun learning despite the above incident.  Since we couldn't really enjoy our Gingerbread house, we did some Gingerbread Subtraction from our 10 Christmas Math Centers

I put our Gingerbread Subtraction cards into one of cute dollar store containers, which made math that much more exciting.  We used our Christmas decorated pocket chart to match the subtraction problems to the correct gingerbread man.  This was followed up and independent subtraction page.  So much FUN!

We also made some cute snowflake Christmas ornaments, which are also very easy and fun.  Simply glue the popsicle sticks together and add your glitter, sequences or any other pretty decorations.

Next we made some ADORABLE snowflakes!  This little winter craft is so easy, even the 3 year old had fun making these!  Since coffee filters are so cheap, we were able to make a ton of them!  This is such an easy craft and they all come out so pretty.  I took a little sewing thread and hung them up so they looked like falling snowflakes.  I found a great tutorial on how to make these on Pinterest!

Finally, we made these cute Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer from Tamara at Teaching with TLC!
