We are getting our "real" Christmas tree this week, but we have had tons of FUN learning with our paper Christmas tree! Not only does our tree have pretend lights, but it also has REAL lights!
For this math center, we strung lights that count by 2's from out 10 Christmas Math Centers pack.
We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE our tree:) Not only is it cute, but it is has really helped Audrey master counting by 5's and by 2's. We keep referring back to the tree as a learning resource.
We made these super cute Q-tip snowmen ornaments, which I found on Pinterest.
Next on our list was Sugar Cookie Play Dough! It is our basic play dough recipe with a splash of vanilla. The girls had so much fun making "sugar cookies"! I figure that we should practice a bit before we make the real thing. The girls had fun sprinkling flour onto the play dough and rolling out the dough. Someone
(Sophia) got a bit carried away with the flour:)
Here is a simple play dough recipe if you need one:
* 2 Cups flour
*2 Cups warm water
*2 Tbsp. cooking oil
* 1 Tbsp. cream of tartar
* 1 Cup salt
Add all dry ingredients to a pot and mix in water. Cook on medium heat and stir until play dough thickens and forms into a ball. Kneed a few drops of vanilla into the play dough or any other scent that you like. Peppermint also smells nice during the Christmas season!
The girls enjoyed some Christmas iPad apps! I tell you, these little Moffatt Girls sure LOVE the iPad. Sometimes I have to remind them that they have to share...it IS Mommy's iPad and I need to borrow too!
There are a TON of FREE Christmas educational apps in the App Store!
We also opened up another book...well actually we opened up 2 books in one day. I guess rules are made to be broken:)
