In honor of National Pencil Day, I created some encouraging pencil flags for your kiddos! When I was teaching, I tried to write a few notes each week to a couple of kids in the class as a way to encourage them. I wish I would have thought of creating some pencil flags:)
A Few Fun Pencil Facts:
1. A single pencil can write 45,000 words or draw a line that is 35 miles long!
2. A pencil can write in water.
3. Manufactures painted the first pencils in yellow because the color was associated with royalty and honor.
I hope you enjoy these:) Click on the picture to get your freebie!

What a sweet idea. I LOVE pencils, always have. I love how they write, how they smell when you sharpen, and the fact that if you make a boo boo, well just erase and start again. I know I am a nerd, what can I say.
I totally hear you, from one nerd to another:)
How do I print it? It openes as a PNG screenshot & has no option to print. It looks so cute & such a great idea!
Jess-
Wow I can't believe I put up a PNG...just fixed it:) Thanks for letting me know!
Its works now!! thank you :D
Love the pencil facts and I had no idea it was National Pencil Day! I remember when I was a little girl I was always jealous of the girls in my class who had the Hello Kitty pencil boxes! The boxes were always pretty and shiny with all these buttons and gizmos that made pencils fly out and erasers pop up. Maybe in honor of National Pencil day I will go but myself a Hello Kitty snazzy pencil box and let the little girl in me have some fun ; )
