We want Audrey and Sophia to know compassion, to know that the world is bigger than the Moffatt Girls' house.  We want them to know that love is a verb and not just a noun.  We want them to learn how to love in deed and not just with words.  We want them to experience the joy of giving rather than simply receiving.  Therefore, we decided to sponsor a child from World Vision.

I could not imagine not having enough food to feed my hungry child.  Yet, so many mothers and fathers all over the world live with the fact that they cannot provide their child with basic necessities.  As I talked to Audrey about sponsoring a child from World Vision, she immediately felt compelled to pick every child on the list.  Although we can't sponsor every child, we can make the difference in the life of one child.

As we looked through all the pictures of the little girls Audrey's age (4 years old) she immediately fixed her eyes on a sweet, brown-eyed girl with a pink shirt.  "Let's sponsor her!"  Audrey shouted.   I think it had something to do with her pink shirt, but in reality, I know God had everything to do with Audrey's choice.  We now have the privilege of praying for and sponsoring a beautiful little girl from Honduras.  Now she will have clean water to drink, nutritious food to eat, clothing, shelter an education and the knowledge that there is a God who cares, all for less than $1 a day.

With every child you sponsor, you receive a bio.  Our little girl likes to help her family "by being good" and she loves to play with dolls.  When Audrey prays for her, she prays that she would get lots of dolls.   I guess we will be sending a doll to Honduras really soon:)
